This change should help alleviate one of
POE2 Currencythe biggest frustrations players expressed: spending time and resources fighting rare enemies only to receive next to nothing in return. Now, as players delve deeper into the campaign and endgame content, they can expect rare monsters to drop better and more frequent loot — making each encounter feel more meaningful.
Boss encounters are also getting a much-needed overhaul. Unique monsters, including act and map bosses, were previously prone to dropping large quantities of gold with little else of value. That’s now changing. These enemies will be limited to dropping no more than 50% gold, with guaranteed rare item drops added to ensure players are rewarded for their efforts. This not only boosts the sense of accomplishment after a tough fight but also helps maintain a healthy in-game economy for trading and crafting with Path of Exile 2 Currency.
Another critical adjustment relates to game mechanics like dodge rolling. Players often reported getting “body blocked” or trapped by enemy mobs, leading to deaths that felt unfair. While GGG still considers this an intentional risk mechanic, they’ve acknowledged it occurred too often and have made dodge rolls more reliable, helping players escape sticky situations while preserving the challenge.
Alongside the loot and dodge changes, skill rebalancing is underway. The powerful Raging Spirits skill, for example, has been nerfed. Players are now limited to summoning five spirits per cast, and they can no longer trigger spirits from linked Fire Skills. These types of adjustments are part of a broader effort to bring all skills into balance and prevent any single strategy from dominating the meta.
Given the impact of these nerfs, the community has begun pushing for a full character respec option — something GGG has not yet confirmed. Still, they’ve made it clear that balancing the game is a long-term, ongoing process. Patch 0.1.0c is just the beginning, with
POE2 Currency for salemore updates planned as Early Access continues and additional player feedback is gathered.
